The teachers and staff at Grace Christian Academy are dedicated to academic excellence and the spiritual well-being of our students. They encourage personal responsibility, a giving heart, and Godly character in students so they will be equipped to serve and lead in their communities.
Iraina Koonz has a degree from the University of Heidelberg, Germany in Language Arts and an MA from the University of Arizona in Curriculum Development. After teaching at the University of Arizona, she moved to NV in 1998 and has been teaching and working in administration at various schools in the Valley since. Mrs. Koonz feels that her calling is with molding young children into bright and well-adjusted disciples of God.
In her free time she coaches soccer, basketball and hockey, as well as spends time with her husband, four children, four dogs, and two cats.
Born and raised in a small town in Ohio, Mrs. Griffith attended Bowling Green State University and has a degree in Communication. After spending 14 years in Colorado, Mrs. Griffith and her family moved to Boulder City in 2016. She is very involved in the community, is a hobby photographer, the Volunteer Coordinator of the Boulder Dam Film Festival, and Mom Extraordinaire to a little boy. When not at school, you can probably find her at a local park.
Peggy Dileo has a B.A. from the University of Northern Iowa in Early Childhood/Elementary Education with a Literacy Endorsement. She taught for five years in public and private schools, prior to being a stay at home mom. For the past 12 years she has substituted in Iowa and Clark County in Iowa and Clark County in a variety of settings. Peggy has lived in Boulder City for the past eight years, with her husband Jason and their 3 children.
First Grade Teacher
Angela Palumbo, native to Boulder City, is in her third year teaching here at Grace Christian Academy. She has studied Environmental Science at both UNLV and Nevada State College, and is passionate about all environmental causes. At school, her fabulous hands-on teaching style can frequently be observed while she is teaching outside with her children.
She enjoys spending time with her daughter and husband, hiking, biking, and exploring.
Upper El Teacher
In over 22 years working at CCSD as an Elementary, Special Education teacher, Educational Computer Specialist, and Special Education Instructional Facilitator she always felt that there was something missing: the ability to share her faith and belief in God.
As the leader of the Women’s Ministry and a teacher in her Children’s Church she sees the effect that solid Biblical teaching can have on others.
When not teaching, Mrs. Rodriguez enjoys photography, horseback riding, and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Tregnan has a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy and is finishing her education classes at Nevada State College. She is grateful for having been able to stay at home to raise her 2 children. She is a member of Saint Andrew Catholic Church and enjoys working with children of all ages.
